Our Team

Dr. Jenny Drake was born in Greenville, a small town in western Kentucky. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating with honors. She completed clinicals in Ocular disease and Low Vision, Pediatrics, Contact Lens, and Primary Care.

Dr. Harris was born and raised in Lima, Ohio until moving to Saint Louis, Missouri just before high school. She completed her undergraduate work at Missouri State University where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. William Jones has been caring for patients throughout Middle Tennessee since 1984 afterearning his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. He joined the Drake Eye Care team in May 2025, bringing more than four decades of clinical experience and a passion for providing exceptional eye care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Jones has been actively involved in both the optometric profession and the local community. He is a past president of the Middle Tennessee Optometric Society, has served on advisory boards, and has been a featured speaker at industry events. His community involvement also includes leadership roles with Rotary International and the Pull-Tight Players Theatre, and he continues to serve through his church’s music ministry.

When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Jones enjoys golfing, biking, playing guitar, and cheering on the Tennessee Titans. He is dedicated to staying at the forefront of advancements in optometry and believes in delivering compassionate, personalized care to every patient.

Dr. Lane Herndon was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Martin and graduated summa cum laude from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Jones was born and raised in Tullahoma, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.

Dr. Alissa Pepelea, O.D., earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College ofOptometry in Chicago Illinois, in 2000, following completion of her Bachelor of Science degree atMichigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.

As part of her clinical training, Dr. Pepelea completed two externships with a specialized emphasisin ocular disease under the mentorship of Dr. Jack Terry at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VAMedical Center in Huntington, West Virginia, and the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center inMountain Home, Tennessee.

Dr. Pepelea provides comprehensive eye care, including routine vision, examinations, contact lensfittings, and the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of ocular diseases. She isdedicated to delivering compassionate, personalized care and helping her patients achieve andmaintain lifelong eye health. Her philosophy is centered on providing exceptional, individualizedcare while building lasting relationships with the patients and families she serves.

Outside the office, Dr. Pepelea enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling,reading, cooking, gardening, and maintaining an active lifestyle.
